Bencana dalam Perspektif Kelembagaan Islam

Abstract

This study aims to discuss disasters in the institutional and Islamic perspective. This study uses a qualitative research type methodology, with library research techniques by collecting data which will later be reviewed using a descriptive approach with analysis and review to explain the study of disaster in the institutional and Islamic perspective. The discussion of this research includes the general understanding of disasters, types of disasters, disaster in the Islamic perspective, and disaster risk reduction both from the institutional and Islamic perspective. This study concludes that disaster is a lesson given by Allah through an event, so that human can introspect. Disaster in the Islamic perspective will never happen just like that, but because of human activity itself. Even though it happened because of Allah’s will without human involvement, it was a from of test from Him with the wisdow behind the event. Positive thinking and trustworthiness when facing disasters are the best attitudes so that humans can introspect themselves, and self-evaluate (muhasabah) to be closer and obedient to Allah SWT.
