This study aims to analyze the application of sociological and anthropological approaches to the provision of Sharia-compliant services by BPJS Ketenagakerjaan (the Indonesian Social Security Agency for Employment) in Aceh Province, specifically in relation to the social, cultural, and religious values of the local community. The study employs a qualitative method based on a literature review, utilizing secondary data collected from scholarly publications, books, legislation, and reports from relevant institutions. The findings indicate that the implementation of Sharia-compliant services by BPJS Ketenagakerjaan represents an effort to integrate social security principles with Islamic values and the local wisdom of the Acehnese people. A sociological approach contributes to raising public awareness, strengthening social solidarity, and encouraging participation through the principle of ta’awun (mutual assistance). Meanwhile, an anthropological approach highlights the importance of adapting services to the traditions, norms, and religious identity of the local community to ensure broader acceptance. Nevertheless, enhancing public understanding and aligning regulations with customary values and socio-economic needs remain critical aspects for the further development of these services. Consequently, sociological and anthropological approaches can serve as a foundation for improving the relevance, effectiveness, and sustainability of BPJS Ketenagakerjaan’s Sharia-compliant services, ultimately strengthening social protection and the well-being of the workforce in Aceh Province.
