Abstract

This study shows about the effectiveness of using electronic dictionaries (e-Dictionaries) for learner’s Arabic for non-naïve speakers in order to reach results that help them in providing Arabic vocabulary. Therefore, the study chooses a number of multilingual electronic dictionaries in the process of make use and providing students with vocabulary in easily way. This study aims to examine the effectiveness of these electronic dictionaries in understanding and comprehension of students to choose the appropriate vocabulary and structures and building the correct and accurate sentences. The study relied on the library induction approach and the analytical in revealing the appropriate dictionaries for students who are novice in learning Arabic. The finding of this study reaches the important element which is the electronic dictionaries have strengths and weaknesses in several cases. The electronic dictionaries save effort and time in searching for information as quickly as possible, but sometimes they need to be connected to the internet.
